Year Five - Poetry Slam

On Wednesday 9th November, Year 5 were invited to take part in a local poetry slam competition with five other schools. The theme was ‘journeys’ and we chose to write our own poem based on our current science topic, space! Unfortunately, we didn't win, but the children received lots of praise for their original poem (15 verses!) and their knowledge about travelling through space. They were also commended for the portrayal of different emotions through their journey and their bravery at each speaking a verse alone. Their behaviour was exemplary, they were fantastic ambassadors for Brownmead! We are very proud of them.
